In the span of a little more than 30 years, ACM SIGGRAPH has grown from a handful of computer graphics enthusiasts to a diverse group of researchers, artists, developers, filmmakers, scientists, and other professionals who share an interest in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Our community values excellence, passion, integrity, volunteerism, and cross-disciplinary interaction.
ACM SIGGRAPH's mission is to promote the generation and dissemination of information on computer graphics and interactive techniques, and it's purpose is to foster a membership community whose core values help them to catalyze the innovation and application of these areas.
In order to achieve this at a local level, ACM SIGGRAPH has a network of Professional and Student Chapters working in cities around the world to carry out it's mission on a year-round basis via meetings, site visits, conferences, video screenings, art shows and special events. Each ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapter consists of individuals involved in education, research & development, the arts, and entertainment.
As part of this effort, Bogota ACM SIGGRAPH is proud to be having it's first annual event this year from the 14th to the 17th of October, focusing on Feature animation, TV commercials, Visual Effects, and Video Games, due to the great development that these industries have had in Colombia over the past years.
The event will consist on the screening of SIGGRAPH's Computer Animation Festival, which showcases the highest quality work in animation around the world, and a series of conferences dictated by experienced International and National speakers focusing on the technical and personal aspects of these fields.
With this event, Bogota ACM SIGGRAPH hopes to contribute to the growth and development of the animation industry in Colombia by informing and inspiring Colombian professionals and students that are eager to expand their knowledge in the fields of Feature animation, Video Games, and Visual Effects.
